Decentralizing eBay: P2P Advertising?

This story in the Internet Ad Report describes how Topica, the free personal email newsletter service provider, has struck a deal with eBay to make it simple for people to link back to auctions within Topica email lists they belong to.

I was just having a conversation with Henry Copeland, CEO of BlogAds, about what he calls peer-to-peer advertising, and how his model of small, self-service ads on weblogs could be a whole new way to distribute eBay auctions. I wonder if he saw the recent Jupiter report about the surge in classified ad revenue online.

Hi Rick,

I saw your blog today about the Topica capability to advertise eBay auctions. I wrote about this in mid-October, with some warnings for eBay sellers. It may not be such a good idea for them to use this feature.

I just signed up for your newsletter - great stuff! I'm really happy to know about your site.
